WW1 1914-1915 Star Trio awarded to Private C.W.Turner - Army Veterinary Corps, an administrative and operational branch of the British Army responsible for the provision, training and care of animals.
The 1914–15 Star is a campaign medal of the British Empire which was awarded to officers and men of British and Imperial forces who served in any theatre of the First World War against the Central European Powers during 1914 and 1915. The medal was never awarded singly and recipients also received the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
British War Medal - This silver medal was awarded to officers and men of the British and Imperial Forces who either entered a theatre of war (an area of active fighting) or served overseas (perhaps as a garrison soldier) between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918 inclusive.
The Allied Victory Medal - The Allies each issued their own bronze victory medal but with a similar design, equivalent wording and identical ribbon. The colours represent the combined colours of the Allied nations, with the rainbow additionally representing the calm after the storm. To qualify, an individual had to have entered a theatre of war (an area of active fighting), not just served overseas.
