A Time Recorder (Clocking-in machine) installed at Rootes by The Air Ministry during WW2. Saved from the scrap heap in the 1960’s from Rootes car plant at Ryton, Coventry. Rootes, manufactured the Singer, Humber, Sunbeam and other cars. During WW2 The factory was used by The Air Ministry when production was changed from cars to aero engines for bombers and more for the Royal Air Force and the machine was Installed in 1941
In the 1960’s Chrysler took control of the company and this clocking in machine was destined for the scrap heap, luckily retrieved by an employee and has hung proudly in his garage for the last 60 years.
