A rare pair of Mid 19th century Victorian child’s correction chairs. Featuring a rattan seat, nicely carved bobbin legs, leading up to a rattan seat, the back support has gentle scroll which is curved, below the cross members have a deliberate protruding fixing point all specifically made to ensure the child’s good posture.
Originally developed to correct poor posture in children, the design forces the child to sit in it correctly Good posture meant keeping a straight back and upright head.
